President’s Welcome

Dr. Joanne Hands I would like to personally welcome each of you to the 2nd Middle East Psychological Association conference and expo. It is a very exciting time as we continue to grow and raise awareness of such an important field in the Middle East. The field of Psychology is a broad area with different concentrations and we are here to provide you the opportunity to meet and be inspired by professionals from around the world who are willing to share their expertise and support this organization to ensure our continued growth.

We are working hard on bringing to you the best and on transforming the way Psychology is perceived in the Middle East but the most important factor comes from the support and trust you are giving to our organization. We need to be very proud of where we are today and excited about where we are headed. This year’s conference is coming with a great amount of innovations and opportunities for each of you to benefit from and to enhance your professional life. This is “the” conference of the year around the Middle East and it is not to be missed.

This unique conference will provide three different tracks to address the specific needs of all attendees: professionals, students, and the general community. Attendees will be able to earn continuing education hours, receive a certificate of attendance, as well as enjoying the opportunity to meet face-to-face with prominent professionals exhibiting the latest in publishing, educational programs, technology, and career opportunities within the field of Psychology. Throughout this conference, I ask you to stay engaged, network, be proactive, and help us continue to grow the success of MEPA.

My personal welcome to the 2018 MEPA Conference and Expo goes to all of you.

Thanks,
Dr. Joanne Hands, PhD, LMFT, LPC
MEPA President

What is MEPA?

Middle East Psychological Association (MEPA) The Middle East Psychological Association (MEPA) was established in November, 2010, to unify psychologists and other mental health practitioners in the Middle East. The Middle East Psychological Association was created to address the needs of mental health clinicians and to provide them resources and ethical standards.

The Middle East Psychological Association has several goals. For one, it aims to unify all of the psychologists and mental health clinicians and serve as the primary psychological organization for the Middle East. The organization also aims to be a resource for the Middle East community and to destigmatize the practice of psychology, which has traditionally been seen as a Western phenomenon. read more..

2nd Middle East Psychological Association Conference and Expo

Under the mandate of public protection, public awareness, professional development, peer support and peer oversight; the Middle East Psychological Association (MEPA) was established in 2010 to bring together psychologists and other mental health professionals from the region in addition to providing resources to practitioners and the entire community.

The 2018 conference and expo aim to raise awareness and further destigmatize the perception of the mental health field within the Middle East region. The conference will allow participants the opportunity to collaborate with numerous professionals and colleagues in addition to providing updates on current topics, trends, theories, techniques, products, and research within the field.

This unique conference will provide three different tracks: for professionals, students and for the general community.
